Old Memories, New Beginnings

Hello! Welcome to the Ludlow Legacy page, a geneological history of the past and present lineage of Bruce Ludlow and Norma Jean Ricks. My name is Karalene [King] Ludlow, and this is my official attempt to become anxiously engaged in a good cause.
Years ago my father first introduced me to geneology by showing me old family photos that were once thought lost. He comes from a long line of story tellers, and I remember sitting and listening as he and his siblings would unfold the stories of their lives, and the ones that had been passed down to them from generation to generation. My father was very interested in family history, and has researched and collected as much information as he could find on his side of the family. It was easier I guess to find information on his father's side of the family as they were some of the first to come west with the early members of the church and settle in the Utah Valley.

For years I have felt that I needed to be working on this research. I would start with enthusiasm, only to fall short of my goals. Sadly, my geneology has collected more dust than it should have during this time. I don't know if it is living in the Utah Valley that has resparked my enthusiasm, or if it is something greater urging me on, but this is the beginning of my search for not only my ancestors, but my husband Craig's as well. We just recently moved to Taylorsville, Utah. Before we left, his grandmother Norma [pictured above] shared one of several books of geneology that she has assembled. I love modern technology. Because of this I was able to scan and copy all that had taken her a lifetime to collect. She is an amazing woman, and I am inspired by her work. I now start my work, beginning with the Ludlow line as this is what I have the most of to share.

I once read, that to write well you must write what you know. I know this. I was born of goodly parents, who raised me to have good values and to seek after the teachings of Christ. Because of these early teachings, I have been blessed all of my life. I married into a wonderful family who has welcomed me as their own. I feel incredibly blessed each day. My hope in starting this blog is to share the information that I have with those who are searching to fill in the blanks of their own lives. Whether you have come to this site to merely keep in touch, to learn more about your roots or to share information that you have that will in turn help others ~ welcome all! As this is my first attempt to take on a project of this magnatude, it will take me some time I am sure to update everything. Thank you in advance for your patience as I continue to build this site and share what I have with you. You can certainly leave your thoughts on this page in response to the blogs that I leave. However, should you with to contact me directly to share information, pictures or to simply say hello, you can do so at: karalene@karalene.com . If you know anyone who might benefit from this information, please feel free to pass on this link to them, along with my email address.

I look forward to sharing old memories and new beginnings with each of you!
